Smell Museum created for Same Same But Different Festival
“Our sense of olfaction is our most primitive sense, and is located in the same part of our brain that effects emotions, memory, creativity, food, danger, and sensual pleasures.”
Created in collaboration with Peris Lopez, the Smell Museum was a fun and unique creative project. A self-guided experience, we focused on creating nostalgic scents that would spark long forgotten memories, such as your ‘first kiss’, or ‘riding your first bike.’ We even included a smell-at-your-own-risk mystery scent for the grand finale.
Each scent was hand-crafted, as well as all of the golden nose decor, and we fabricated and decorated this 10×10 pop-up.
In addition to the Smell Museum, I also creatively supported the ‘But-Ox Slot Machine’ design, build and design elements for the secret ‘Vault’ scavenger hunt room, the ‘Cheekeasy VIB Lounge,’ the ‘Cheekeasy Stage’, and the ‘7 Minutes in Heaven’ install within Grandma’s House.
